Does Bargaincity offer any type of mediation between users?

Bargaincity provides an online platform where users advertise and search for a variety of goods. However, the interaction and negotiations between buyers and sellers are the sole responsibility of the parties involved. Because of this, Bargaincity can't provide refunds or assist with disputes. Bargaincity DOES NOT offer any consumer protection, payment services, shipment services, product guarantees or user verification.

If you have any questions or concerns about an incident please contact the other party and do your best to resolve the situation between the two of you. If you feel you have been defrauded, contact your local police.

We recommend buyers and sellers meet in person and that transactions take place only after the buyer inspects the item. Always avoid e-transfers, cashier checks, Western Union and other kinds of wire transfers.

What do I do if I am a fraud victim?

If you are a victim of fraud, please call the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre hotline at 1-888-495-8501.

What recourse do I have if my transaction has gone bad or if I have been defrauded?

If you feel that your transaction has gone bad or you have been cheated by a fraudulent posting on the site, please let us know about it. If appropriate, you should contact the police to pursue criminal charges. Remember to trade locally and transact in-person to reduce the risk that your transaction will "go bad".

Is shipping items allowed?

For safety reasons, we discourage Bargaincity sellers from shipping their items to buyers, as well as paying for items in advance and receiving them via shipment.

We strongly encourage cash payments, avoiding e-transfers, money orders and certified checks.

Should I accept certified checks from other users?

If you’re contacted by a user requesting that you communicate via email or text and saying they will send you a certified check, be alert. This request is a common scam. Please report and block this user so we can take appropriate action, and consider other buyers who are willing to use Bargaincity chat and pay in cash.

Like the authorities, we recommend not cashing or depositing certified checks you may have received from users.

How do I see my reviews?

You can read reviews that other buyers & sellers have published about you by going to your profile.

Buyers who have received reviews from sellers won't be able to read their review until 7 days go by or they write their own.
